Nintendo held a press conference in Osaka earlier today, at which they announced that Tatsumi Kimishima had been appointed the company’s new president.

Nikkei reports that under his leadership Kimishima stated that Nintendo will continue the basic strategies outlined by late president Satoru Iwata, with Genyo Takeda adding that they were looking to implement a collective leadership system internally that would help to future-proof the company.

Kimishima’s immediate aim is to look to identify new projects, while maintaining Nintendo’s return to profitable financial results for the fiscal year in an effort to return the company to what investors refer to as “Nintendo-like profits.”
