Nintendo of America has, once again, planned plenty of activities for San Diego Comic-Con, presenting a chance to play upcoming Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS games.

The event, which runs from Thursday 20th – Sunday 23rd July, will see Super Mario Odyssey be playable at Nintendo’s booth, with even more games available to play at the San Diego ballroom in the Marriott Marquis and Marina – which has been transformed into a colourful Nintendo paradise.

There will be a chance to play on the New Nintendo 2DS XL before it launches later this month, competitions sponsored by Nintendo will let attendees win prizes, and the Super NES Classic Edition will proudly be on display.

Those looking for a competition can participate in the Play Nintendo Challenge, with giveaways and prizes up for grabs. If selected, competitors will start with an eight-player Turf War match in Splatoon 2, with the winning team of four competing against each other in ARMS, determining the two final players that will face each other in Pokkén Tournament DX. This will run from 10am – 7pm on Thursday 20th – Friday 21st July, and from 10am – 5pm on Sunday 23rd July.

With Splatoon 2 releasing this week, a themed photo booth will be set up for attendees to take snaps with weapon replicas. Professional Splatoon 2 cosplayers Heidi O’Ferrall and Leo Camacho will visit the booth at select times to help celebrate the launch and take photos with fans, with the first 20 that show up at the booth in Splatoon costumes to receive free gifts.
