Nintendo of Europe has announced updates to its management structure, with Luciano Pereña appointed as CEO, president and chairman of the management board.
This change comes after Stephan Bole’s decision to leave the company – ending his full-time professional career after more than 35 years with Nintendo, in which he served as Nintendo of Europe president for the past six years.
“On behalf of the entire company, I extend my sincere thanks to Stephan Bole for his outstanding leadership and many years dedicated to Nintendo,” shares Nintendo of Europe president Luciano Pereña.
“I am honoured to continue Nintendo’s purpose of putting smiles on faces, and I am confident that this leadership group and united European team will allow us to build on our company’s legacy of delivering unique experiences.”
As of 1 September 2024, Nintendo of Europe’s restructured leadership team includes:
- Luciano Pereña, chief executive officer, president, and chairman of the management board. Mr Pereña joined Nintendo in February 1994, most recently serving as Nintendo of Europe’s chief financial officer since 2018.
- Laurent Fischer, chief operating officer. Mr Fischer joined Nintendo France’s marketing team in 1998, later serving as a managing director at Nintendo of Europe from 2006 to 2015 and most recently as chief marketing officer since 2018.
- Tom Enoki, senior managing director, corporate planning office. Mr Enoki joined the senior management team of Nintendo of Europe in 2022.
Further to this, Frank Rittinghaus has been appointed to lead Nintendo of Europe’s marketing, communications, and direct-to-consumer business. Frédéric Michaux succeeds Mr Rittinghaus in his former position as general manager of Nintendo Benelux.
Nintendo recently completed the reorganisation of all its European entities into one organisation, Nintendo of Europe SE, with all local offices remaining open.
