Nintendo of America’s Erik Peterson has announced that he will leave the company, bringing his 13 year tenure to an end.

A familiar face to those that have tuned in to either the Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3 streams or Nintendo Direct broadcasts, he joined the company in February 2004 as a localisation writer and has seen his career since progress to become a senior manager in the product marketing team.

Within that time frame Peterson will have worked on countless games that saw release across GameCube, Wii and Wii U home consoles, as well as Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS handhelds.

“Big life news! After 13 years, I’m moving on from Nintendo,” Peterson shared on Twitter. “I’ll miss my Nintendo family – so grateful for such an unbelievable experience. But I’m also really excited for this new phase of my life. Thank you for your support all these years!”

While Peterson is yet to share where he is headed next, we’d like to wish him all the best for the future!
