It has been a long time coming, but Nintendo NX will soon be revealed to the world. Nintendo has announced that they will release a ‘Preview Trailer’ today at 3pm BST (4pm CST / 7am PT / 10am ET), allowing everyone the chance to “be among the first to discover” what their new platform will be.

Nintendo of America added that this “will serve as Nintendo’s preliminary announcement of information regarding the platform.”

It had been reported that Foxconn Electronics had started trialling Nintendo NX production in September, with the dedicated game platform widely believed to be a portable console with detachable controllers that can be displayed on a TV by placing it in a separate dock.

The console will be targeted at casual and hardcore audiences, and is rumoured to be region-free, has a 6.2-inch 720p multi-touch screen, motion control and force feedback.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé has indicated that Nintendo NX won’t be positioned to compete with Microsoft and Sony simply in terms of power.

The price point has been said to be “cheaper than even the vast majority expect,” and Ubisoft has been the most talkative about the console without giving much away.

The third-party publisher’s CEO Yves Guillemot has shared that he has high hopes for the console, adding that it is a “fantastic machine” with a “new approach,” and that it will put Nintendo “back in the race.”

SEGA, Square Enix, Activision and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are all believed to be supporting the console, Take-Two Interactive has expressed that they are “believers,” while EA has repeatedly swerved any question about their own commitment.

So far, we know that Project Sonic 2017, Just Dance 2017, Dragon Quest X, Dragon Quest XI, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are all destined for Nintendo NX.
