Original Story: Nintendo Network has been hit by an unexpected outage this morning, meaning that online services across Wii U and Nintendo 3DS are currently down.
That issue is affecting all network services, seeing users unable to login using their Nintendo Network ID or access the Nintendo eShop to purchase digital content.
Nintendo identified the problem at 8.56am GMT, and working hard to address the underlying cause as quickly as they can to restore the service back to normal.
It scuppers those with plans to sink some time into Splatoon this weekend, with players in Europe currently battling it out in a Splatfest to determine whether they would prefer to be rich or fit.
Hopefully it won’t be too long before everyone’s inking their way to victory!
