Super Mario Odyssey returns to the explorative sandbox gameplay that was seen in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, and, with the Nintendo Switch exclusive nearing release, this week’s Nintendo Minute episode retrospective look back at the portly hero’s past adventures.

Super Mario 64 is the best-selling game on the Nintendo 64, and saw Mario leaping into paintings to recover 120 Power Stars in Peach’s Castle, whereas Super Mario Sunshine is the third best-selling game on GameCube, and, equipped with the Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device (F.L.U.D.D.), saw players chase down Shadow Mario who was spraying graffiti across Isle Delfino.

Nintendo of America’s Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang reminisce about each outing while playing through early levels from the games – seeing Mario take on King Bob-omb and Petey Piranha. And remember, Nintendo Minute is never a minute.
