Now delivering the first-party software that the console so badly needed, Nintendo see The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD as the “perfect time” for series fans to discover what the Wii U has to offer.
“It is the perfect time for Zelda fans to discover Wii U,” explained Nintendo UK product manager Roger Langford to MCV. “For many Zelda fans, this is the first time that they’ll discover [The] Wind Waker and we’re treating the game as a triple-A new release.
“Ocarina of Time 3D performed positively on Nintendo 3DS and we’re looking to replicate this success with The Wind Waker HD.”
Such hopes are matched by the company supporting the game’s launch with themed Wii U bundle, and a limited edition copy exclusive to GAME and GameStop that includes an enticing Ganondorf figure.
