After a hacker uncovered Roy and Ryu’s impending reveal ahead of schedule, Nintendo have themselves leaked that they will shortly announce plans to release an 8-Bit Mario amiibo and four Animal Crossing amiibo.

Nintendo Spain distributed an email earlier today with an image still live on Nintendo of Europe’s official website, revealing the company’s intention to release a special 8-Bit Mario amiibo to celebrate the Super Mario Bros. 30th Anniversary this year. This will presumably be shipped with Mario Maker, although we’re likely to learn more in Tuesday’s Nintendo Digital Event.

It’s the Animal Crossing amiibo series that is more intriguing, with four characters shown in Tom Nook, Isabelle, Mabel and K.K. Slider. These will presumably accompany the amiibo cards that we know are to release to coincide with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. But, does it signal that another Animal Crossing announcement may be on the cards this week?
