Nintendo’s analyst briefing is currently underway at E3 2013, part of their three-pronged strategy to approach the industry event in a new way this year.

Whilst largely discussing positive news regarding Nintendo 3DS, such as increased market share for the handheld within the UK throughout this year, one nugget of information that’s certainly intriguing is mention of a new free-to-play title.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about it, but Nintendo shared that it will be part of their plans to boost digital sales and will be released this financial year.

To immediately dash hopes of a Pokémon MMO, they clarified that neither Mario or Pokémon would be used as those brands have already built a firm reputation.

We’ll undoubtedly hear more soon, with the fiscal year ending by March 2014.
