2015 marks 30 years since Super Mario Bros. first saw release in Japan on the Nintendo Entertainment System, and, as part of their celebrations, Nintendo have opened their Super Mario 30th Anniversary teaser site.
“Thanks to all the love and support from fans, Mario has been in many more games since that release,” a welcome message reads. “We’re making big plans to show our appreciation and celebrate the 30th anniversary. Stay tuned to the site for information and announcements.”
Aside from the message, the teaser website shares a visual history of Mario’s Mushroom Kingdom adventures, points visitors toward Mario Maker and presents a special movie that many will have already seen last year.
Mario Maker will see release as a Wii U exclusive in September, but we’ll have to wait until the Nintendo Digital Event to see what else Nintendo have in store.
