Nintendo Germany suggest Super Smash Bros. launching in Spring 2014

We’ve had character, stage, and item reveals, yet we’re still without any idea of a release window for Super Smash Bros. That is until now, it appears.

Speaking to a German daily newspaper Südwest Presse, Nintendo Germany’s general manager Bernd Fakesch commented: “For next spring two more big license games are also announced for our TV console with Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros.”

If true it points toward Nintendo lining known Wii U and 3DS releases throughout the first half of next year, which makes sense. We know to expect Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze in February, so Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. soon following on would make sense to try to gain the sales momentum that the Wii U has so far lacked.
