This week’s Nintendo eShop releases for North America are in, delivering new demos and games for Nintendo Switch – as well as plentiful discounts across all platforms.

  • Earthlock, Snowcastle Games – Free

  • Pixel Action Heroes, Cypronia – Free

  • Toki Tori 2+, Two Tribes – Free
    Explore an enthralling forest island, learn magical songs and interact with the local wildlife to solve environmental puzzles. Toki Tori 2+’s ingenious game design requires just two moves: whistle and stomp. It’s super accessible, yet it builds up to incredible complexity later on.
  • Valkyria Chronicles 4, SEGA – Free
    Valkyria Chronicles 4 takes place in the same timeframe as the original Valkyria Chronicles, but focuses on Squad E of the Federation. Commander Claude Wallace and his childhood friends set out to fight for freedom in this desperate war, but bone-chilling blizzards, waves of imperial soldiers, and the godlike powers of the Valkyria stand between them and victory.

    When Sarah Black, curator at the Caribbean Naval Museum, receives a package from a mysterious messenger, she is unwittingly drawn into an ancient conflict. Inside the package she finds an artifact, and instantly assailants descend on the museum to rob her. The artifact is stolen. Sarah lowers her head in disbelief as she realizes that again she is falling headfirst into a nightmare from the deep.
  • Okami HD, Capcom – $19.99
    Take the role of Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess who inhabits the form of a legendary white wolf Shiranui. Use magical abilities, attacks, and Celestial Brush techniques to restore the land of Nippon to its previous glory full of life and color.
  • Shut Eye, Forever Entertainment – $3.99
    Play as a young child, who is away from her parents. The girl has suffered from anxiety most of her life, which lead to confusion and an exuberant imagination. When the lights go out, and the moon comes out, it’s when the story begins.
  • State of Mind, Daedalic Entertainment – $39.99 (available Wednesday 15th August)
    Berlin, 2048. The world is on the brink. Lack of resources, illnesses caused by polluted air and water, crime on the rise, war. Governments and companies promise remedies through technological progress. Drones and humanoid robots replace humans in the public sector, everything is interconnected, surveillance has become omnipresent.
  • SubaraCity, Flyhigh Works – $5
    SubaraCity on Nintendo Switch offers a new twist for puzzle game fans, combining careful planning with relaxing gameplay. You’re not just matching blocks, but you’re city building at the same time! On Nintendo Switch the game can be played on the TV with the controller, or you can even play in portable mode and use touch controls.
  • TETRA’s Escape, Ratalaika Games – $4.99 (available Friday 10th August)
    TETRA’s Escape is a platforming puzzle-game all about blocks. Blocks named Tetras and it is down to the players to do all that they can, to save them and make the most out of their special ability. Via the means of shape-shifting, Tetras can turn into different Tetrominos and used to fill holes and master puzzles, in an attempt to reach the portal on the other side of the level.
  • The Amazing Shinsengumi: Heroes in Love, D3Publisher – $11.99
    A romance game for women where you fall in love with members of the famed Shinsengumi. Okita Soji, Saito Hajime, Nagakura Shinpachi, Harada Sanosuke, Todo Heisuke… Which of the rough and passionate Shinsengumi members will you fall for?   • Unexplored, Digerati – $15
