This week’s Nintendo eShop releases for North America are in, delivering new demos and games for Nintendo Switch – as well as plentiful discounts across all platforms.

Nintendo Switch Demos

  • Animated Jigsaws: Beautiful Japanese Scenery, Rainy Frog – Free
    Animated Jigsaws – Beautiful Japanese Scenery contains moving images from spring, summer, autumn and winter capturing the natural beauty of Japan from all four seasons. Piece together scenes from some of Japanese most famous places including Mt. Fuji, Kyoto, Tokyo and the Snow Monkeys enjoying a bath in a natural hot spring. The hectic scramble crossing at the metropolitan Shibuya district in Tokyo is also included.
  • Monopoly for Nintendo Switch, Ubisoft – Free
    Experience three unique 3D boards at home or on-the-go with up to six players in total, or take your game online and challenge players in quick matches. Customise your game by selecting from six official House Rules chosen by Monopoly fans around the world. Don’t have time for a full game? Speed it up with Special Goals that shorten play sessions, and Actions Cards to move you around the board and penalize your opponents. Build your empire and trade your way to victory.
  • Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Capcom – Free
    This critically acclaimed action RPG series makes its debut on Nintendo Switch. Take on epic hunts on the go or from the comfort of your own home. Choose from 14 different weapon types, mix and match them with unique Hunting Styles and Hunter Arts, or even play as an adorable but ferocious Felyne in Prowler Mode. Featuring the largest cast of monsters for any game in the series, from returning fan favourites to mysterious never-before-seen monsters.
  • Morphite, Level 77 – Free
    Set in a distant future where humanity has colonized the far reaches of space, Morphite follows the story of Myrah Kale, a young woman whose life takes a sudden turn when a simple mission develops into an epic interstellar journey revealing her mysterious past and relation to a coveted substance called Morphite.

Nintendo Switch Games

  • ACA NEOGEO Metal Slug 4, Hamster Corporation – $7.99
    Metal Slug 4 is an action shooting game released by SNK in 2002 and it marks as the fifth title in the Metal Slug series. In addition to Marco and Fio, the brand new characters, Trevor and Nadia have joined the battle. Use the new items effectively and get the highest score with the new Metallish System.
  • All-Star Fruit Racing, PQube – $35.99 (available Tuesday 21st August)
    All-Star Fruit Racing propels players into vibrant worlds filled with incredible action: drift through looping bends, soar over monumental jumps and defy gravity itself around tubular tracks in an explosively colorful racer bursting with championships, modes and awe-inspiring sights.
  • Arcade Archives Kid’s Horehore Daisakusen, Hamster Corporation – $7.99
    Kid’s Horehore Daisakusen is an action game that was released from Nichibutsu in 1987. Kid, who has been drawn into the space-time labyrinth from the 23 century, fights to escape from a large track of the enemy in order to return to the present day. Players defeat enemies with dropping in holes with using items, to escape from the times, such as primitive times and the Edo era and contemporary.
  • CastleStorm, Zen Studios – $14.99
    Enjoy a unique take on medieval warfare in Zen Studios’ light-hearted action-strategy game – enhanced with new features designed specifically for Nintendo Switch. As rival fortresses attack your own, you’ll use a ballista to fling an assortment of weapons at enemy towers and spear approaching enemies, while sending your own troops and unleashing powerful spells. Battling opposing units up-close as an individual hero nicely balances the ranged combat, and CastleStorm’s goofy characters and richly detailed graphics keep it an enchanting experience throughout.
  • Detective Gallo, MixedBag – $14.99 (available Friday 17th August)
    Detective Gallo is a point&click comic-noir adventure that is entirely hand-illustrated and hand-animated, and whose protagonist is a feathered and grumpy private eye struggling with a very tricky case, bizarre characters, and puzzles that will put his insight and patience to the test.
  • Flip Over Frog. Mutan – $7.50
    Flip over cards, get the largest number of your symbol cards face up, and then keep your area. Predict the symbol card of your opponent and then flip over. Simple yet profound… the ultimate example of a party game.
  • FunBox Party, Drageus Games – $1.99
    Fun Box party is a perfect party package, because having fun together is the best kind of fun. Three arcade games that are perfect for making any party the best one ever. In each of these games, your speed, reflexes and – most importantly – good fun counts.
  • Johnny Turbo’s Arcade: Nitro Ball, FTE Games – $7.99
    Join the game show and blast your way through 5 intense levels gathering power-ups and special weapons, including a special super power.
  • Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Steel Crate Games – $14.99
    In the Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes game, one player is trapped in a room with a ticking time bomb they must defuse. The other players are the “Experts” who must give the instructions to defuse the bomb by deciphering the information found in the Bomb Defusal Manual. But there’s a catch: The Experts can’t see the bomb, so everyone will need to talk it out – fast! Puzzle solving and communication skills – and maybe a few friendships – will be put to the test as players race to defuse bombs while communicating quickly, clearly and effectively.
  • Manual Samuel, Curve Digital – $9.99
    Manual Samuel is a classic adventure game with a wild twist. After making a deal with Death, our hero, the spoiled rich-kid Samuel, must survive for 24 hours controlling his entire body manually. From breathing and blinking to driving and working, all these tasks will fall to you. It won’t be easy, with Death himself tagging along for the ride, you might be in some very deep faeces.
  • Next Up Hero, Aspyr Media – $19.99
    Next Up Hero is a dungeon crawler featuring hand-drawn heroes that hack, slash, bongo-drum, boomerang, and jet their way through Ventures. Choose your Hero and start rolling dungeons, gearing out, and maxing your stats. Invite a friend for co-op — you’re going to need all the help you can get.
  • Out of The Box, Raiser Games – $14.99 (available Wednesday 22nd August)
    Dive into a wild story of gangsters and criminals in Out of the Box, a captivating thriller where you decide the fate of the peculiar customers of a luxurious nightclub in a never-ending race against the clock.
  • Persian Nights: Sands of Wonders, Artifex Mundi – $14.99 (available Friday 17th August)
    Ominous clouds are gathering over Persia. The good natured king Badiya is mortally ill and the demonic Grand Vizier Zaved holds his subjects in an iron grip, bringing the country to the edge of ruin.
