Nintendo E3 2019 Plans Open With World Championship Tournaments

E3 2018 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament

Nintendo has started to announce their plans for E3 2019, revealing that the event will play host to both the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 and Splatoon 2 World Championship 2019 tournaments.

Players from North America, Europe, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand will head to Los Angeles to compete on Saturday 8th June.

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 will be a three-on-three team-based tournament, whereas the world’s top squid squads will face off in the Splatoon 2 World Championship 2019.

“We will showcase some of the best players of some of our biggest games on a huge international stage,” explains Nintendo of America senior vice president of sales and marketing, Doug Bowser.

“Whether you’re cheering for a favorite player or you just love to watch top-level competitive play, you’ll see how these events highlight the Nintendo community and bring people together.”

E3 2019 will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center between Tuesday 11th – Thursday 13th June 2019.
