Nintendo DSi 1.4.2 Firmware Update Available

Nintendo DSi and DSi XL owners can today treat themselves to the latest firmware update for the handheld system.

This is the third firmware that has been released for the handheld, bringing the version up to 1.4.2. Whilst merely stating that it brings behind-the-scenes improvements to performance, it is plausible that such an update has been made to allow the Nintendo DSiWare transfer ability to be able to operate when the late May update for Nintendo 3DS is made live.

To update, you’ll need to go to System Settings > System Update, and a wireless internet connection is required.

Previous firmware updates to the Nintendo DSi saw a concerted effort by Nintendo to combat the piracy threat from flash carts.
