Nintendo DS Repairs To End On April 30th

Nintendo has announced that they will no longer accept any original Nintendo DS systems for repair beyond Saturday 30th April 2016.

While apologising for any inconvenience caused, Nintendo reasoned that it has become far more difficult to secure the parts necessary to make their repairs. Which is to be expected, given that the Nintendo DS first launched across North America way back in November 2004.

However, clarification is given that repairs will continue to be accepted for Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL systems.

This week saw rumours emerge that Nintendo DS Game Card production had discontinued worldwide, a cutback that will soon be replaced by their new “dedicated game platform,” Nintendo NX.
