Nintendo Download list: 2nd January 2014 (North America)

Nintendo of America have announced this week’s Nintendo Download list, which bears some resemblance to that supposedly confirmed for last week.

Whether it’s more of a reminder after the Nintendo Network issues is unclear, but you’ve got Mega Man X2 and Super Punch-Out!! to enjoy on Wii U’s Virtual Console, Castlestorm and Dr. Luigi on Wii U, and a demo for Bravely Default.

* Atlus Sale
The holidays may be over, but Atlus wants to continue giving away gifts into the new year. Now through 9 a.m. PT on Jan. 6, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor: Soul Hackers, Etrian Odyssey IV: Legend of the Titan, Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, and Code of Princess are all on sale in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS.

Virtual Console (Wii U)

Slug your way through the grueling, sweat-pounding matches against a cast of characters with unique patterns.

* CastleStorm, Zen Studios – TBC
Welcome to the world of CastleStorm, a super genre mashup of 2D physics destruction mashed with tower defense brawler! CastleStorm was born out of the fond childhood memory of building and destroy Lego castles.

* Dr. Luigi, Nintendo – $14.99
There’s a new doctor in the house! Dr. Mar – or, uh, Dr. Luigi is a new twist on the classic virus-popping puzzle game. Use L-shaped pills in a new game mode and compete with players locally or online. Dr. Luigi will be available exclusively in the Nintendo eShop on Dec. 31.

3DS Download Demo
* Bravely Default, Square Enix – Free
Square Enix’s highly acclaimed fantasy RPG is an ambitious game that bolsters its turn-based combat with a compelling new risk/reward system that RPG fans will obsess over. Explore Luxendarc as Tiz and other memorable characters on a visually stunning quest to restore balance to the world. Download the free demo and experience an exclusive side quest that is not available in the main game. The full version of Bravely Default launches for Nintendo 3DS in stores and the Nintendo eShop on Feb. 7.
