Nintendo Download list: 24th October 2013 (North America)

We’re striding into the season of big releases, with this week’s Nintendo Download list delivering Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, Regular Show: Mordecai & Rigby in 8-Bit Land, and Sonic Lost World to Wii U and Nintendo 3DS owners in North America.

These are all accompanied by Virtual Console arrivals in the form of Nintendo’s Baseball and Pinball, and Konami’s Star Soldiers, among other releases.

Hit various targets and rack up points in this classic pinball game, originally released for the NES. The game is fun and easy to learn, and includes bonus balls for high scorers, as well as a bonus mode starring Nintendo’s legendary character Mario. On top of all this, it features a two-player alternating mode, so you can play with a friend.

* Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Ubisoft – $59.99
It is 1715. Pirates rule the Caribbean and have established a lawless pirate republic. Among these outlaws is a fearsome young captain named Edward Kenway. His exploits earn the respect of pirate legends like Blackbeard, but draw him into an ancient war that may destroy everything the pirates have built. Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag will be available on October 29th.

* Batman: Arkham Origins, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment – $49.99
Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline occurring several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, witness identities are formed and key relationships are forged. Batman: Arkham Origins will be available on October 25th.

* PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures, Namco Bandai – $39.99

Featuring an original storyline inspired by the show as well as all the charming characters from the highly anticipated PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures animated series created and produced by Avi Arad, acclaimed director and founder of Marvel Studios. * Sonic Lost World, SEGA – $49.99

The standard for vertically scrolling shooters, Star Soldier is the original game that spawned all of the games in the long-running Soldier series. Your mission: to stop Starbrain’s galactic invasion by piloting Caesar, a new, compact space fighter through 16 deadly stages. Collect power capsules to increase three different attributes of your ship: firepower, movement speed and defensive shields.
