Nintendo have announced that the 8GB White Wii U Basic Set is “slated to go out of production shortly” in Japan.

The company had already been partly phasing it out, introducing 32GB White Wii U Premium Sets that so far bundled in Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Bros. U, Wii Party U, Wii Fit U, and Wii Sports Club. But now, the 8GB White Wii U Basic Set’s discontinuation is official.
