SEGA of America revealed the first look at Classic Sonic gameplay in Sonic Forces within this week’s Nintendo Direct, as well as teasing a new character.

The segment can be caught in the presentation, with SEGA having previously confirmed that there will be three unique gameplay styles in the blue blur’s next adventure: Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic and another that remains unknown at this time.

New gameplay footage from Sonic Mania was also shown, which saw Sonic and Tails blazing a trail through Green Hill Zone, Tails cycling through a turbine in the recently revealed Flying Battery Zone, and Knuckles platforming through the brightly-lit Studiopolis.

Sonic Mania will release for Nintendo Switch this summer, with Sonic Forces landing this winter.
