Update: The Wall Street Journal has shared that Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima also added that Nintendo Direct presentations are to be “remodeled,” with the new format to run from next year.

Original Story: Nintendo has once again confirmed that they still have plans for more Nintendo Direct presentations, with “at least one” to be broadcast before the end of the year.

The Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki reports that Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima commented on their absence this morning, at the company’s press conference to announce their second quarter earnings.

That absence has been wholly understandable, given their necessary recovery after sudden loss of the late Satoru Iwata. But Nintendo’s loyal fans have been clamouring for more news, considering that we haven’t seen the presentations return since E3 2015’s Nintendo Digital Event.

I expect that, going by last year’s schedule, we will see the next presentation in early November. It was a time at which Nintendo chose to outline what they planned to release in early 2015, covering The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 1, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, and Splatoon.
