Nintendo has shared a short four-minute animation called “Close To You,” which has debuted on YouTube and the Nintendo Today application.

The adorable animation centres on a toddler, who is left to play on his own while their Mum answers the front door. After their dummy (or pacifier) magically starts to float, it gently encourages the toddler to move around the room. This results in the toddler gaining enough confidence to start walking, much to their Mum’s delight once she returns to check on them.

There has been no explanation as to why the short has been released or who is behind it at the time of writing, but we assume that it is from Nintendo Pictures. Nintendo announced that it would acquire the film production company back in July 2022.

Formerly known as Dynamo Pictures before Nintendo changed its name, the company has previously worked on Metroid: Other M, The Last Story, Pikmin Short Movies, Catherine, Persona 5, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
