Nintendo continue to reduce losses

Nintendo have released their first quarter earnings report, ending June 30th, showing reduced losses compared to the previous year.

Whilst net sales fell from 93,298 million yen to 84,813 million yen, operating losses and net losses similarly dropped.

Nintendo were able to sell 540,000 Nintendo DS systems, with life-to-date sales surpassing the 1.52 million mark. Meanwhile sales of 710,000 Wii units similarly pushed life-to-date sales of the platform to 96.56 million units.

Whilst Nintendo shared disappointment with progressive sales of the Nintendo 3DS, the handheld now sits at 19 million unit sales since it launched early last year.
