Nintendo has confirmed that it will return as an exhibitor for Gamescom 2025, after it made the decision not to attend the world’s “largest game event” last year.

“Mark your calendar in red: Nintendo will be back at gamescom 2025. We look forward to welcoming you to Cologne from 20 – 24 August!” the company confirmed on X.

After gamescom Opening Night Live is broadcast on Tuesday 19 August, gamescom 2025 will once again take place at the Koelnmesse in Cologne from Wednesday 20 – Sunday 24 August 2025.

With 15 million consoles forecast to be sold before the financial year ends, they will be keen to get Nintendo Switch 2 into as many hands as possible, and I’m sure that 24-player Knockout Tour races in Mario Kart World will be the perfect way to do so.

As to whether there will be any surprises on the showfloor is obviously unclear at this point, but the first-party games scheduled for the console’s early months post-launch include Donkey Kong Bananza, Drag x Drive, Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World.

Nintendo Switch 2 will be released at retailers around the world on 5 June 2025, priced at £395.99 in the United Kingdom, €469.99 across Europe, and $449.99 in the United States.
