Nintendo Celebrates MAR10 Day With Heartfelt Donation To Starlight Children’s Foundation

With March 10th playfully remembered as MAR10 Day every year, Nintendo of America has once again celebrated their iconic plumber in many different ways.

The most heartfelt has been their work with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, for which they will produce new Starlight Brave Gowns. These will help brighten the lives of seriously ill children, replacing normally unattractive and uncomfortable hospital garments with brightly coloured gowns – the new designs starring Mushroom Kingdom characters such as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong and Yoshi. The donation that Nintendo has made to the Starlight Children’s Foundation will help create 2,000 gowns.

Those that use Facebook’s Messenger Camera will be able to use a free Mario-themed frame for their Facebook profile photo from 5am PT on Friday 10th March – 11.59 PT on Sunday 12th March. The frame adds items plucked from the Super Mario Bros. universe to any photo or image, and can be found by tapping the smiley face icon once you take a photo in the Messenger app. You will then see the special frame in the “Featured” section, which you can select to add it to your photo.

Amazon.com will also provide a 20 percent discount on digital games that star Mario, while My Nintendo will share rewards such as a 30 percent discount on Mario Kart 8, the Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 2 that features Animal Crossing characters and two Mario-inspired wallpapers.
