Nintendo celebrate European Pokémon launch with exclusive event

Nintendo celebrated the anticipated launch of Pokémon Black and White versions across Europe, by holding an official launch party at Leicester Square in London.

Hosted by TV’s Sam & Mark, celebrities attending the event included JLS, Keeley Hawkes, Dancing on Ice star Laura Hamilton, news reader Dermot Murnaghan, lead singer of the Noisettes Shingai Shoniwa, actress Natascha McElhone, Gavin and Stacey star Matt Horne, and Sophie Ellis Bextor, who had all walked the illustrious Black and White carpet to enter the invitation-only event.

Once inside, fans could get an early opportunity to play the game, partake in a Pokémon quiz, dance along with Pokémon characters and view both rare concept art as well as preview new episodes from the latest Pokémon anime series. One Direction rounded off the night with a special one-off performance, followed by an exclusive signing session.

Pokémon Black and White versions launched across Europe yesterday, exclusively for the Nintendo DS.
