Customising your Nintendo 3DS will shortly be taken to a whole new level, with Nintendo Badge Arcade introducing new ways to personalise the HOME Menu screen.

Set to release on Friday 13th November as a free download, players can tackle crane games and other classic amusements to earn badges inspired by Nintendo games – whether that be Mario kart, Splatoon or Animal Crossing. These can then be used to decorate the HOME Menu, with certain badges replacing standard system icons – such as for the Nintendo eShop and StreetPass Mii Plaza.

Every day you will have five free plays on a practice machine, earning dummy badges that can potentially reward you with plays on machines that hold real badges. Otherwise, five plays on such machines can be bought for £0.90 (€1).

Nintendo will regularly change the badges and machines on offer, with players encouraged to share their personalised designs on Miiverse.

You can learn more in the colourful trailer below, presented by the energetic bunny that runs the arcade!
