Nintendo have today announced a series of events and creative partnerships that serve to expand upon the success of New Art Academy: Learn New Painting Techniques and Share Your Art.

John Myatt will provide step-by-step lessons to recreate iconic paintings that will include Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Monet’s Sunset over San Marco, with acclaimed children’s book artists Jan Pieńkoswi (Haunted House, MEG & MOG), Oliver Jeffers (The Moose Belongs to Me, Lost and Found, The Incredible Book Eating Boy) and Viviane Schwarz (There Are No Cats in this Book) also working to create lessons for the title.

Alongside this, John Myatt and Viviane Schwarz will host free live workshops in London during autumn, teaching techniques and tips to those that attend.

Schwarz will present an event at Cass Art, on Friday 2nd November from 3 – 5pm, with Myatt hosting a special drawing event in London at Cass Art, Islington, on Monday 5th November 7 – 9pm.

In addition to this, Nintendo 3DS XL also recently supported the Family Space at Frieze London 2012, held between 11th – 14th October in Regent’s Park, providing the opportunity to try New Art Academy at the fair, with workshops, presented in partnership with ReachOut RCA.
