Nintendo of Japan have today made a flurry of Wii U announcements, including a new White Wii U Deluxe Set, a Wii Remote charging device, and a welcome battery upgrade for the Wii U GamePad.

The White Wii U Deluxe Set contains the same contents as the previously available Black counterpart, whilst the Quick Charge Set for Wii Remotes will release on July 13th and provide a battery pack, charging dock, Wii Remote case and strap.

It will be the Wii U GamePad battery pack that’ll prove of most interest, enabling users to replace the standard 1500mAh version with a new 2550mAh pack. This sees an increased lifetime from a maximum of between three-to-five hours, which is now extended to five-to-eight hours. That’ll become available in Japan on July 25th, priced at 3,150 yen (approx. £20 / $30 / €25).

There’s been no confirmation as yet regarding a western release, but it’ll most likely be on the cards.
