Nintendo 3DS TV Service launches in Japan tomorrow

Having partnered with both Fuji Television and Nippon Television, Nintendo of Japan have unveiled plans that will see the availability of downloadable television programs for the Nintendo 3DS begin tomorrow.

In order to be able to access such content, you will first be required to download the free “Itsu no Ma ni Terebi” application from the Nintendo eShop. The meaning behind such name is similar to the Japanese SpotPass service, and whilst no English translation is offered Andriasang are dubbing it “SpotTV.”

The service will utilise SpotPass to automatically download 3D video content to the Nintendo 3DS on a daily basis, and such TV programming is original and produced specially for the handheld by the two companies.

Whilst the content will be free, advertisements will appear.

Available programming is as follows:

* Nittele Doubutsu de Calendar
An animal program showing animals in 3D. Delivered daily.

* Tetsu View 3D
A train program designed for train buffs, complete with introductions to trains and train stations. Delivered daily.

* Magic Class 3D
This program shows magic tricks from famous magicians. Delivered daily.

* Idoling Sumo 3DS
A popular girls group takes on a variety of challenges, all apparently in the form of battle (like sumo wrestling). Delivered daily.

* Nikkan Topics
