Nintendo has released another minor Nintendo 3DS system update worldwide, the handheld’s firmware now at version 11.3.0-36.
There are no surprises, with Nintendo only sharing that they have made “further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments to enhance the user experience.”
However, notorious hacker Smealum, who has long been a thorn in Nintendo’s side, once again lends some perspective.
“For what it’s worth, it looks like Nintendo might be targetting [sic] the Homebrew Launcher itself in 11.3 and trying to block it out entirely,” he wrote. “This is still kind of speculative since we haven’t run all the tests yet but based on preliminary RE work it seems to make sense.”
He continued: “What this means is I’m 90 percent sure I can get a fix out for New Nintendo 3DS fairly soon, but status of Homebrew Launcher on original Nintendo 3DS is in limbo for now.”
The battle continues.
