Nintendo 3DS system update 9.5.0-23 now available

Brace yourselves for even more stability in your lives, as a new Nintendo 3DS system update has been pushed live worldwide.

Seeing your handheld upgraded to Version 9.5.0-23, this does little else other than the usually undescriptive “minor adjustments” that have been made in the background to improve your enjoyment.

We can interpret this as seeing Nintendo move to address Internet Browser exploits recently discovered, that had allowed those with the original 3DS and 3DS XL models to download full Game Boy Color ROM files. Reports by those having previously done so suggest that this has now been corrected, denying users the opportunity to illegally play such copies.

Smealum’s free loader application RegionThree has also been countered, having successfully removed the region-lock that Nintendo implemented across their handhelds for those still on older system update versions.
