Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima has revealed that the company is exploring whether to introduce a successor to the Nintendo 3DS.
In an interview with The Kyoto Shimbun, Kimishima explained that, as the Nintendo Switch differs in shape, overall size and price point, the company believes that it can co-exist alongside Nintendo 3DS.
With the belief that it will continue to cater to a different audience to Nintendo Switch, the company is considering whether to introduce a new handheld to the market.
That doesn’t mean that it will necessarily see release, but Nintendo is likely continuing to keep their cards close to their chest until they see how well Nintendo Switch performs around the world.
3) He doesn't give more details, but he seems to actually mean an entirely new machine , not a 3DS update or refresh. /end
