Last week saw the Nintendo 3DS able to achieve its strongest week of sales in Japan since launch, pushing its install base firmly past the four million mark.

Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu and Enterbrain report that the Nintendo 3DS sold 510,629 units, with the lifetime total now at 4,135,739 units. Such a weekly sales figure eclipses the previous week’s record sales of 367,691 units.

Such positive sales have allowed Nintendo to exceed their estimate of reaching a four million milestone by February 2012.
