Nintendo 3DS sales continue to dominate North America

Echoing similar success in the UK, Nintendo of America have shared that the Nintendo 3DS has remained the best-selling console across North America for the second consecutive month.

June saw the handheld shift just shy of 225,000 units at retail, driven by the hype that surrounded the launch of Animal Crossing: New Leaf and continued sales of Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon.

Compared to last year, hardware sales jumped by 40 percent whereas software saw an even more significant leap by 105 percent.
