Nintendo once again have something to celebrate, with July’s NPD Group sales figures seeing the Nintendo 3DS remain the best-selling system across North America for the third consecutive month.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf saw a further 150,000 physical and digital sales during the month, whilst Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon has now spooked its way past 820,000 combined sales.
Compared to last year, 3DS hardware sales were up by 14 percent with software seeing a larger increase by 45 percent.
Though the Wii U remains a concern, with Nintendo remaining fairly silent on the matter. Their press release made mention of New Super Mario Bros. U climbing past 830,000 lifetime sales, and Earthbound seeing much success since it arrived on the Virtual Console, though no hardware numbers were mentioned.
