Nintendo 3DS reigns supreme in weekly Japanese sales chart

Youkai Watch 2 continues to lead the Japanese software sales chart, with LEVEL-5’s Nintendo 3DS exclusive having shifted a further 120,682 copies.

That comfortably allows the game to have soared past more than 2 million sales since it launched across Japan on July 10th, little over a month ago. Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2 was the highest new release, charting below LEVEL-5’s ghostly adventure by selling 81,584 sales. Nintendo’s systems continued to dominate the chart, with 11 3DS and 2 Wii U titles, Mario Kart 8 and Dragon Age X: All-in-One Package helping to drive hardware sales.

On that note the 3DS LL and 3DS continue their success for another week with 41,045 combined sales, an increase on those achieved last week. While the Wii U also steadily climbs with 13,598 sales, which is a steady improvement. It will be interesting to see next week’s sales data, and the effect that Hyrule Warriors begins to have on the console’s fortunes.
