After two years on the market, it would appear that the Nintendo 3DS has now become the latest victim of piracy.
Gateway 3DS claim to have created a flash card that enables handheld owners to load backed up ROMS to the device, without needing to legitimately purchase software.
“The Gateway 3DS Team proudly presents the first ever video proof that many thought impossible,” they write on their website. “Below we show an unedited video of the device booting 3 different backed up 3DS ROMS consecutively which are loaded on the Gateway 3DS device via microSD cards. We hope you are as excited as we are!”
The unedited video sees the user making use of Micro SD Memory Cards to load the recently released Luigi’s Mansion 2 on the handheld, as well as Resident Evil Revelations and Super Mario 3D Land.
Well, we’re not excited at all. Piracy will undoubtedly threaten the future of the platform, and Nintendo will be keen to address this attempt as soon as they can.
