Nintendo 3DS continues to dominate in Japan

The start of 2012 has seen the Nintendo 3DS continue its domination of both the hardware and software charts in Japan, according to the latest sales figures from Media Create.

Monster Hunter 3G was also able to become the third Nintendo 3DS title to sell a million copies, and also the first third-party release to do so.

The handheld was able to sell 240,819 units between January 2nd – 8th, a 20% boost from that achieved the previous week.

Hardware sales are as follows, with the previous week’s in brackets.
