After news broke that Niantic was now working with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, many have feared that Pokémon GO would suffer as a result.

With more to be shared about the new augmented reality mobile game inspired by J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World next year, the developer has assured that they remain “committed” to Pokémon GO and continue to expand the development team in order for them to continue to introduce new features – news on which is promised next week.

“Just like many of you, we’re super excited about Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and are working hard with our partners at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and WB Games San Francisco’s development team to bring that to life,” Niantic shared in an update.

“However, we – the Pokémon GO development team – want to say that we are 100 percent committed to creating an ever-changing and growing game that gets our players exploring, meeting each other, and deepening their connection to the Pokémon universe. We’re actively expanding the Pokémon GO development team to build many more amazing features in 2018. Stay tuned for an update next week on upcoming improvements to certain features.”

But it is not new features that many are concerned about, but more that issues continue to be left unresolved and promises unkept. We’ll see what they can deliver next.
