Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – Prince’s Edition will release on Nintendo Switch later this year.
The game was previously released for PlayStation 4 and PC back in March 2018, and is a sequel to Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – which has since been treated to a Nintendo Switch port – but was set hundreds of years after the events that had unfolded in the original game.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom once again promises players “an unforgettable adventure which blurs the line between animated feature film and video game.” After the young king Evan is overthrown in a coup, he must set out to found a new kingdom, reunite his world and protect those that inhabit it from the dark forces that threaten them.
The game went on to sell more than 900,000 copies around the world in the months after it released, and was met with a positive reception from critics – receiving an 84 Metascore on Metacritic.
The Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – Prince’s Edition will include the standard game and the following downloadable content:
- Adventure Pack, with new outfits and items along with the Faraway Forest Cave random dungeon and new threats for Evan’s kingdom.
- The Lair of the Lost Lord in which Evan will set on a new extraordinary quest in a new world. New items, equips and a new dungeon, Labyrinth, are also included in the DLC.
- The Tale of a Timeless Tone. During a dream, Evan meets a rabbit-headed man who calls himself the “Conductor”. Players will explore Evan’s dream and find the goal of all this. New content also included along with the Solosseum Slog dungeon.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – Prince’s Edition will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 17th September 2021.
