It was another tantalising glimpse at Link’s open-air adventure, hinting at the game’s wider events, villages, and what else lies beyond the Great Plateau. Against the wondrously captivating soundtrack, the biggest teases came in an unidentified female character and an eagle-like character that is seen soaring into the sky.
“For this trailer, what we decided to do was give people a glimpse of what and who they may see out there in that world away from the Plateau,” Nintendo of America’s director of product marketing Bill Trinen explained.
Breath of the Wild also scored Most Anticipated Game, an award that was voted for by fans ahead of the show.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch and Wii U in 2017.
