Nintendo have pushed live a new Wii U system update, that, while bringing improvements to system stability as we have now come to love, have more importantly introduced amiibo settings.

This arrives ahead of the company’s splash in the toys-to-life category later this month, with the addition being neatly sat in the console’s System Settings menu. It will allow you to not only register an amiibo and choose a nickname, but also to delete any data written to it or reset it entirely.

As per normal, Nintendo of America’s full rundown is as below!

Version 5.3.0, available via an Internet connection, includes the following improvements:
Changes to System Settings:
* amiibo Settings has been added to System Settings. amiibo Settings allows users to register an amiibo owner and nickname, delete data written to an amiibo by supported software, or reset an amiibo

Improvements to system stability and usability:
* Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience
