During the last Nintendo Direct presentation, global president Satoru Iwata announced New Super Mario Bros. 2 for Nintendo 3DS.
This was the “totally new side-scrolling action Super Mario in 2D” that he had previously confirmed during an earnings briefing in January, and is confirmed to release across North America and Japan in August.
Whilst current information remains light, a selection of screenshots showed the appearance of a Golden Mario and the Super Leaf set to feature.
