To coincide with the infamous blue hedgehog celebrating his 20th Anniversary this week, SEGA have unleashed some new information and screenshots for the Nintendo 3DS instalment of Sonic Generations.

For Japan, the version for Nintendo 3DS will be known as ‘Sonic Generations Blue Adventure,’ whereas the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version will be titled ‘Sonic Generations White Space & Time.’

Each will offer both Classic and Modern gameplay, but that is where the similarities seemingly end. Aside from the Green Hill Zone, the Nintendo 3DS version will offer users a selection of entirely unique stages.

SEGA also confirmed a flurry of new details, including the appearance of Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s final boss ‘Big Arm,’ the inclusion of two-player competitive play via Wi-Fi Connection, StreetPass support and a Special Stage that will be familiar to those that have played Sonic Heroes.
