The Pokémon Company has released a new trailer for the upcoming Pokémon anime season, showcasing the first episode in the reboot – Birth of Pikachu.
This suggests that the Pichu in the trailer will eventually evolve into the Pikachu that has accompanied Ash on his adventures for the past 20 years.
The synopsis for the episode, thanks to Crunchyroll, reads:
“In a forest somewhere in Kanto, there once was a lonely Pichu. This Pichu – who was still quite young – had a certain encounter and farewell. This took place shortly before Ash and his partner Pikachu started travelling together. This is the beginning of the anime Pocket Monster.”
The first episode in the new Pokémon series will air in Japan on November 17th.
