Nintendo of Europe has announced that the New Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition will release in the region next month, to coincide with Pokémon Crystal‘s release on the Nintendo eShop.

The New Nintendo 2DS XL will, almost unsurprisingly, have a special design that resembles the iconic electric mouse, Pikachu. It continues the clamshell design with the Pokémon’s cheerful face on the decorative case for the upper screen, with its nose slightly pronounced. Otherwise, it’s a yellow handheld with a brown trim.

Perhaps to be seen as a companion design to the New Nintendo 2DS XL Poké Ball Edition, the New Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition will come with a 4GB microSDHC memory card and a Nintendo 3DS AC adapter.

The New Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition will release across Europe on 26th January 2018 and is now available in Japan.
