New Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night character revealed at Gamescom

Koji Igarashi made a surprise appearance during Microsoft’s Xbox gamescom 2015 Briefing, primarily to announce news regarding cross-play between Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s Xbox One and Windows 10 versions.

But, complete with whip and cowboy hat, he had “one other small surprise” to share, in revealing an entirely new playable character.

“We actually have one other small surprise for you today,” Igarashi shared. “A brand new character in Bloodstained. We’re still putting the finishing touches on this character, so we don’t actually have an official name yet.

“But, we can say that this is a demon hunter that fights the demons that first come to Earth on an attack that occurs 10 years before Bloodstained the game begins. We can also say that he is a dual sword-wielding hero that uses Japanese ofuda spells to fight his foes.”

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is scheduled to release for Wii U in March 2017.
