Netflix set to launch in United Kingdom and Ireland

Netflix have confirmed that they are to launch a monthly subscription service across the United Kingdom and Ireland in early 2012.

The service, similar to UK counterpart LOVEFiLM who were recently purchased by Amazon, will offer unlimited TV shows and movie streaming over an Internet connection.

Further details regarding pricing, content and supported devices are due to be announced closer to launch.

Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo 3DS and the Wii all currently support the streaming service in North America, with Nintendo president Satoru Iwata confirming at E3 2011 that the forthcoming Wii U will do so also.
